Roles & Access
Nexxus uses Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) to manage access to features and actions.
Each user is assigned one or more roles. Every role contains a set of permissions that determines what the user can view, create, edit, delete, or manage.
Nexxus provides five system roles by default:
- Superadmin
- Admin
- Moderator
- Talent
- User
Custom roles can also be created by users with the appropriate permissions.
System Roles
Section titled “System Roles”Superadmin
Section titled “Superadmin”The Superadmin has complete access to Nexxus.
Superadmins have all available permissions and can manage the entire system, including users, roles, permissions, events, talents, clients, call sheets, media, and other platform features.
The Superadmin account is protected and has additional restrictions. Its name and email cannot normally be changed through the application. Contact the developer when changes to the Superadmin account are required.
The Admin role is intended for users responsible for managing day-to-day event and production operations.
Admins can manage events, clients, talents, rehearsals, call sheets, templates, calendars, media, and messages. They can also manage users and their accounts, but do not have full system-level access.
Moderator
Section titled “Moderator”The Moderator role provides access to operational features needed to support event and production management.
Moderators can work with events, assigned talents, rehearsals, clients, call sheets, calendars, media, and messages. Their access to administrative features is limited compared with Admins and Superadmins.
Talent
Section titled “Talent”The Talent role is intended for performers and other talent participating in productions.
Talents have access to features relevant to their assigned work, including their events, calendar, and call sheets. They can also complete and manage their own talent profile and onboarding information.
The User role is the most basic system role.
By default, Users have limited access to Nexxus and can access their calendar. Additional permissions can be granted through custom roles or additional assigned roles.
Multiple Roles
Section titled “Multiple Roles”A user can be assigned multiple roles.
When multiple roles are assigned, the user’s permissions are combined. For example, if one role provides permission to view events and another role provides permission to create events, the user will have both permissions.
This allows administrators to create flexible access configurations without having to create a new role for every situation.

Section titled “Permissions”Permissions control access to individual features and actions within Nexxus.
